by Sophia Bennett

Chief Antonio DeVaul of the Takoma Park Police Department has announced the arrest of Eduardo Vallera Carrizallez, 21, and Onalker Machado Martinez, 24, both lacking fixed addresses, in connection with a strong arm robbery. The incident involved the suspects placing unrequested accessories on the victim’s shoes and then demanding payment, leading to the victim being restrained and money stolen.

On October 14, at approximately 12:49 PM, Takoma Park Police officers responded to reports of a robbery on the 1300 block of University Blvd. The victim reported that three unknown male suspects approached him, attempting to sell shoe accessories. Without his consent, the suspects placed the items on his shoes and demanded payment. When the victim refused, explaining that he had not requested the accessories, the suspects restrained him and insisted he pay. Ultimately, the victim handed over a small amount of cash before the suspects fled on foot.

Following an investigation, police were able to apprehend Carrizallez and Martinez, who have been charged and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. The third suspect remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing.
