DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Douglas C. Meier, 28, early Sunday morning in Davenport.
Tashon J. Bea, 21, was taken into custody Monday in Rock Island and faces multiple felony charges:
First-degree murder
Felony intimidation with a dangerous weapon
Going armed with intent
Police have not yet disclosed Bea’s exact role in the incident, which occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday in the 1700 block of Gaines Street. First responders arrived following reports of gunfire and found Meier with multiple gunshot wounds. He received emergency aid on scene and was transported to MercyOne Genesis Hospital East Campus, where he was later pronounced dead.
Bea is the second individual charged in the case. Alyx R. Hinton, 18, of Minnesota, was previously arrested and charged with:
First-degree murder
Two counts of attempted murder
Two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon
Going armed with intent
Authorities allege that Hinton fired into a group of people with intent to kill two individuals.
The investigation into Meier’s homicide remains ongoing, and police have not ruled out additional arrests.
