Two New York Men Arrested for Stealing Package in Greenwich

Juan Candelario-Vicente and Jose Ortiz-Espinal face multiple charges after stealing a package from a Cos Cob home

GREENWICH, Conn. — Juan Emilio Candelario-Vicente, 25, of Yonkers, and Jose M. Ortiz-Espinal, 30, of The Bronx, were arrested last week for allegedly stealing a package from a home in Cos Cob, Greenwich, according to a police report released Saturday.

The theft occurred on the morning of November 19, on Maplewood Drive. Police were dispatched after receiving a report of a package theft. Authorities quickly responded to the scene, and with the help of a description of the suspects’ vehicle, officers located the pair.

A traffic stop was conducted, and the stolen package was found inside the vehicle, leading to the arrest of both individuals.

Candelario-Vicente was charged with:

Third-degree criminal trespassing
Sixth-degree larceny
Interfering with an arrest
Ortiz-Espinal was charged with:

Conspiracy to commit third-degree trespassing
Conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny
Interfering with an arrest
Both suspects were processed and released on bail. They are scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Stamford on December 4.
