Krysta-Lyn Williams, 36, a Penticton woman with a history of alleged scamming, has been charged with fraud after bilking 16 victims out of $60,000 in an elaborate meat-selling scam. Williams allegedly operated a fake meat delivery company called DBL Meats, which she claimed was based in Kelowna and offered “fresh farm products to customers in Canada.”
Using e-transfers, Williams is believed to have deceived the victims, who made payments for orders that were never fulfilled. A warrant for her arrest has now been issued, and authorities are seeking information on her whereabouts.
Williams, who is originally from Alberta, is no stranger to criminal activity. In 2018, she was charged with fraud in Calgary after allegedly faking cancer to raise funds for non-existent medical treatment.
Police are urging any additional victims of Williams’ scam to come forward by contacting the Three Hills, Alta. RCMP or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
