A 30-year-old man, Carl Quintano Gipson, is facing serious charges after allegedly breaking into a home in Aberdeen. According to a press release from Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis, Gipson, a resident of Fort Liberty, was arrested on October 7 for entering a home near Highway 5 and Pinehurst Street without the homeowner’s consent.
Chief Chavis reported that officers responded quickly to the scene after the victim indicated that an unauthorized individual had entered her residence to take items. The victim provided crucial evidence, including witness statements, which facilitated the investigation and led to warrants being issued for Gipson on charges of felony breaking and entering, as well as larceny.
Chavis noted that extensive resources were deployed to locate Gipson, resulting in his prompt apprehension. He emphasized that this appears to be an isolated incident, with the suspect known to the victim.
In addition to the breaking and entering charges, Gipson has also been served with a warrant for communicating threats. He was denied immediate bond, and a judge will determine his bond status at a later date. Gipson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
