Brewer Contractor Jason Bryant Charged with Felony Theft

Bryant Allegedly Took Payment Without Completing Work

by Sophia Bennett

Jason Bryant, a Brewer contractor, has been charged with felony theft for allegedly taking payment without completing the agreed-upon work. Bryant, 45, was arrested on Saturday at Hollywood Casino in Bangor after a grand jury indictment in November. The indictment followed a complaint from a Bangor couple who hired Bryant, doing business as JRB Construction, for home improvement work.

The couple claimed they paid Bryant for the services, but the work was never done. They reported that the checks they issued to him were cashed without any progress made on the project.

Bryant was arrested and brought to Penobscot County Jail, where he faces a Class C theft charge. The details of how Bryant was tracked to the casino have not been disclosed.
