Veronica Kluge Charged with First-Degree Murder in Whiting, Iowa

Woman arrested after stabbing death of man at Whiting home

A 54-year-old woman from Whiting, Iowa, has been charged with first-degree murder after a fatal stabbing at a home in the early hours of Sunday morning. According to the Monona County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 12:05 a.m. on Sunday, dispatch received a 911 call reporting the incident. Deputies arrived at the home located on the 16000 block of County Highway K42 and found an unresponsive male inside.

Court documents reveal that during the 911 call, the caller admitted to killing the person. The man, aged 50, was pronounced dead at the scene from a stab wound.

Following the discovery, the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s Division of Criminal Investigation, alongside the Monona County Sheriff’s Office, launched a joint investigation into the incident. Veronica Kluge, a resident of the home, was taken into custody and interviewed by law enforcement.

Kluge has since been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death. Investigators continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident.
