Three individuals, including a minor, were arrested on Wednesday for stealing spare parts from a non-operational spinning mill near Gobichettipalayam, located in Kolappalur. The mill, which was being guarded by 55-year-old Jayaraman, was targeted by the suspects who attempted to flee with stolen iron materials.
Jayaraman, along with local residents, caught the thieves as they tried to escape on three two-wheelers. The police were immediately informed, and the three suspects were handed over to the Kolappalur police. The arrested were identified as Kaviraj (27), a resident of Kunnathur in Tiruppur district, Manoj (19) from Pasur, and a 17-year-old boy.
A case was registered, and the stolen iron materials, along with the two stolen two-wheelers, were recovered from the suspects. Authorities are continuing the investigation to determine if the thieves were part of a larger theft ring.
