Stacy Essex, a 52-year-old woman from Pope County, was arrested on multiple charges after an incident involving theft, breaking and entering, and drug possession. The arrest took place following a call from a neighbor who reported suspicious activity at a local residence.
According to a probable cause affidavit, police responded to the victim’s home after receiving the neighbor’s report. The neighbor observed an unknown female exiting the backseat driver’s side door of the victim’s vehicle and noticed that the carport storage room door was open. Upon further investigation, the officers identified Essex as the individual at the scene.
Essex now faces charges including theft of property, breaking and entering, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She appeared in bond hearings on Monday morning.
