Sasha-Maree Phillips, a former office administrator at Burnside Contractors, is accused of embezzling over $500,000 from the company over several years. Phillips, 49, from North New Brighton, faces charges of theft by a person in a special relationship and fraudulently accessing a computer system.

Phillips worked at Burnside Contractors from 2015 until June of the previous year. She is alleged to have accessed the company’s BNZ online banking account to generate fake payments and altered invoices to funnel funds into a separate bank account.
