A 27-year-old man, Aleesh Jogani, was arrested by the VP Road police for allegedly stealing gold ornaments from his own house in Girgaon to fund his drug addiction.
The incident came to light after Jogani’s mother, Yogita, filed a complaint, prompting the police to investigate the case. Following the complaint, Jogani was arrested.
According to the police, Aleesh Jogani had been battling a drug addiction for several years. Despite being admitted to alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers three times, he would relapse after leaving the centers. To fuel his addiction, he resorted to stealing gold ornaments from his family, who reside on Khetwadi Bank Road in Girgaon.
