A 2023 batch police Sub-Inspector, Rajesh Yadav, has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a 17-year-old national-level taekwondo player in Jaunpur. The victim was allegedly beheaded with a sword following a clash over a disputed piece of land.

Yadav, who is currently posted in Meerut, was reportedly in regular contact with the main accused after the murder. During an inquiry into his involvement, police arrested Yadav on charges of criminal conspiracy under section 61 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sahita (BNS). The arrest follows the detention of four other individuals connected to the murder.

Station Officer Rajaram Dwivedi of the Gaura Badshahpur police station confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigations are ongoing. The case has brought to light concerns over the involvement of law enforcement personnel in criminal activities, and authorities are continuing to examine Yadav’s role in the case.
