In a significant breakthrough, Goa Police have arrested four individuals involved in orchestrating a massive villa scam that allegedly defrauded over 500 tourists. The suspects, operating from Hyderabad, were identified as Saurabh Duseja from Gwalior and Hyderabad residents Sayed Ali Mukhtar, Mohammad Firoz, and Mohammad Azharuddin Saif.
The scam came to light following a complaint from a Chandigarh resident who reported paying advance amounts for a villa that did not exist. The accused allegedly created fake listings for luxury villas in Goa on online booking platforms, tricking tourists into making upfront payments for properties that were never available.
Investigations are ongoing, with authorities working to identify and assist additional victims. The arrested individuals face multiple charges, including fraud and misrepresentation.
