In a significant breakthrough, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police have arrested two individuals involved in a series of business and investment frauds across 17 states in India. The accused, Amarnath Singh (39), the CEO of a company, and Ranveer Singh (46), the marketing head, were apprehended from Delhi.
These individuals are implicated in fraudulent activities spanning multiple states, including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana.
The fraudsters targeted a Hyderabad-based businessman, who filed a complaint stating that they had approached him under the guise of offering lucrative business orders for his products. The scammers convinced him to pay hefty registration charges to become a client, sending fake emails claiming a huge demand for his product in both domestic and international markets.
Upon investigation, police found that Amarnath Singh and Ranveer Singh had duped several victims across India, deceiving them into believing false investment opportunities and business deals. The two accused are currently in custody, and the police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the fraudulent network.
