In a significant breakthrough, the Begumpet police have arrested three individuals involved in a bike theft racket. The trio, identified as Rayudu Chaitanya Sai Kumar (33), Mahdyanapu Jagadeesh (28), and Kunchala Hari Krishna (25), were arrested after a series of bike thefts were traced back to them across the tri-commissionerates.
The police investigation, which included verification of CCTV footage, led to the identification of the suspects following a recent bike theft in the Begumpet area. Upon further scrutiny, it was revealed that the trio had been actively involved in stealing two-wheelers and selling them to receivers across the region.
A total of 59 stolen bikes worth approximately Rs42 lakh were seized from the three offenders, marking a significant recovery for law enforcement. The investigation revealed that the bikes were taken from various locations and sold to receivers in the area.
Rayudu Chaitanya Sai Kumar, the main accused, is believed to have been the mastermind behind the thefts, while Jagadeesh and Hari Krishna are implicated as receivers, involved in purchasing and distributing the stolen bikes.
The trio has been remanded to custody, and the police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of their activities and identify further victims.
This arrest has been hailed as a major success for the Begumpet police, highlighting the importance of surveillance and quick action in tackling property crimes.
