Police in Lower Moreland Township have arrested Andrew Capponi for breaking into the business office of his former employer and attempting to cash stolen checks.
Burglary & Theft at Former Workplace
Authorities say the incident took place on October 16, 2024, at a business on the 300 block of Red Lion Road. Security footage revealed Capponi breaking in and stealing checks before fleeing.
Days later, a man named Jason Kuepper successfully cashed one of the stolen checks, while Capponi himself attempted to cash another at United Check Cashing—but failed.
Repeated Failed Attempts to Cash Stolen Checks
Despite his initial failure, Capponi tried again more than a month later. On November 27, 2024, he walked into Cottman Check Cashing, unknowingly trying to cash a check at a location already alerted about the theft. The business kept the check and refused the transaction, leaving him empty-handed.
Capponi’s Arrest & Charges
Police arrested Capponi after linking him to the burglary, stolen checks, and fraudulent cashing attempts. As a former employee who resigned in 2022, his involvement in the break-in quickly led authorities to him.
He now faces charges related to burglary, theft, and fraud.
