WICHITA FALLS, Texas — William Edward “Binky” Hunter, 45, has been charged with a felony offense in connection with the ongoing investigation into a homicide in Wichita Falls. On April 10, 2025, Hunter was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, marking the eighth arrest related to the investigation into the May 2024 murder of Trevanian Mitchell.

Hunter, who was already incarcerated at the Wichita County Jail for a parole violation, was charged while being held without bond since February 6, 2025. The charge against him stems from discoveries made during a police investigation involving several individuals.

As of now, no murder charges have been filed in Wichita County, although police have arrested and charged several individuals in relation to the case. The other seven individuals arrested include:

Brittany Johnson — Charged with aggravated perjury (March 27)

Zelma Barry — Charged with aggravated perjury (March 29)

Latarrah Roberts — Charged with aggravated perjury (March 31)

Elmondo Gildon — Charged with unlawful possession of a firearm (April 9) and murder in a separate Dallas County case (April 10)

Patricia Vasquez — Charged with organized retail theft (April 10)

Jessica Jones — Charged with organized retail theft (April 12)

Maricia Blair — Charged with unlawful possession of a firearm (April 14)

The investigation intensified after authorities executed a search warrant at a residence owned by Elmondo Gildon in the 100 block of North Oriole Street. The search uncovered over 4,000 video recordings from May 2024, which led to the discovery of footage showing Hunter with a firearm.

The police affidavit reveals that Hunter, known by the alias “BK,” appeared to be on high alert while at Gildon’s residence, suggesting that both men were concerned about possible retaliation. Hunter is described as a gang member associated with the Kemp Edition Posse and is a convicted felon on parole until 2029. Being caught with a firearm as a convicted felon on parole is a third-degree felony under Texas law.
