Veteran Tollywood actor Mohan Babu has become the victim of a robbery at his Jalpally residence after a theft involving Rs10 lakh in cash. The actor’s secretary, who was responsible for handling the funds, filed a complaint with the Pahadishareef police following the discovery of the theft.
According to the complaint, Mohan Babu’s secretary had recently returned from a trip to Tirupati on September 22, carrying Rs10 lakh in cash. The money was placed in the secretary’s room in the servant quarters of the actor’s house. However, upon checking the room, the secretary noticed that the money was missing.
Upon realising the theft, the secretary alerted the police, and an investigation was launched. After reviewing CCTV footage from the residence, investigators spotted an individual, later identified as Vadithe Ganesh Naik (24), loitering around the room where the cash was kept. The footage also showed Naik leaving the premises late at night.
The police investigation led to Tirupati, where the accused was located and arrested. Naik, who worked as a clerk, was apprehended on Wednesday, and the police managed to recover Rs7.3 lakh of the stolen amount along with a mobile phone from him.
