The Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) arrested four former employees for stealing confidential business information from their employer to establish a competing company.
On Saturday, DSP KVM Prasad led the operation that resulted in the arrest of P Durga Prasad (29), a former construction engineer; J Chandrasekhar Prasad (28), an AutoCAD designer; P Praveen Kumar (29), a billing engineer; and P Anil Kumar (29), a mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) manager.
The arrests stemmed from a complaint filed by a swimming pool installation firm based in Banjara Hills. A case was registered on May 21 under sections 316(4) (criminal breach of trust), 318(4) (cheating), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS and IT Acts.
Police investigations revealed the accused set up a rival firm, Kraftmen Engineering Infrastructure, registered under Chandrasekhar Prasad’s father’s name to hide their involvement. They stole client data, project designs, pricing details, and strategic business information from their employer.
“The accused exploited their positions to access sensitive data, which they used to divert clients and business to their unauthorised venture,” said a TGCSB official.
The probe found that Praveen Kumar contacted clients using stolen information, Durga Prasad created unauthorised pool designs, and Anil Kumar diverted labour and resources from ongoing projects.
Law enforcement seized one laptop, four mobile phones, and five SIM cards from the accused. All four were remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues.
