Six individuals, including four men and two teenagers, are set to appear in court later this week charged with the murder of 28-year-old Jordan Hogg from Middlesbrough. The accused will attend a plea hearing at Newcastle Crown Court on Friday, April 11.
Jordan Hogg tragically died on February 28 after suffering serious injuries during an alleged incident on Fonteyn Court in Hemlington. His family has since expressed deep grief over his loss, describing him as a “loving and special” person who brought joy to everyone around him.
The accused include:
Sidney Bashford, 29, from no fixed address, charged with murder and possession of a knife. Bashford was apprehended in France and extradited to the UK.
Michael Charville, 43, from no fixed address, charged with murder and possession of a knife.
Oliver Connelly, 27, from Elmhurst Gardens in Middlesbrough, charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Ryan Moore, 22, from no fixed address, charged with murder.
Two 17-year-old boys, both charged with murder—one is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
Additionally, a 15-year-old boy who was initially arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without further action. A 32-year-old man who was charged with murder has also been released without further action. A 19-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on conditional bail.
Following Jordan Hogg’s death, his family issued a statement expressing their heartache. They said, “We can’t put into words how deeply devastated our family and friends are that Jordan has been so cruelly taken away from us. His absence has left a huge void in our hearts. Life just won’t be the same without him. Jordan was a funny, loving, special young man who lit up any room he walked into and was loved by everyone who knew him. We will keep his memory alive, ensuring he will never be forgotten.”
The accused will appear in court on April 11 for the plea hearing regarding the murder charges.
