Two suspects were arrested on Thursday in connection with a series of storage unit burglaries in Hernando County, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Shawnee Reed, 32, and Brian Beckley, 36, were apprehended during a traffic stop in Pasco County. Investigators say the burglaries occurred between December 21 and December 29, 2024, with various items including tools, batteries, and other miscellaneous goods being stolen from storage units. Surveillance footage captured Reed and Beckley committing the crimes.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit traced the suspects to a storage facility on U.S. 41 in Pasco County. With help from the Florida Highway Patrol, officers stopped the pair and arrested them shortly after they left the facility.

Reed and Beckley have both been charged with burglary and grand theft and are being held without bond at the Pasco County Jail. Additionally, Beckley faces multiple outstanding warrants for similar charges in Kentucky.
