A man who committed eight knifepoint robberies in the space of 24-hours was jailed on Friday (12 July) for a number of offences.Between Thursday 12 October and the early hours of Friday 13 October last year multiple reports of robberies were received where victims were threatened with a knife and a number of mobile phones were stolen.
Some of the victims managed to track their phones which led officers to Bede Park where they found 24-year-old Seye Djli.
Djli was searched and officers found five mobile phones, bank card and a knife.
After a Section 18 search of his home address in Cambridge Street, Leicester, officers found a further two phones.
The incidents occurred in the Jarrom Street, Mill Lane Bridge, Bede Park, Briton Street, Bath Lane, Newarke Street, Mill Stone Lane and Town Hall Square areas of the city.
Due to the swift actions of the victims and local officers Djli was arrested within 24 hours of the reports.
He was identified by some of the victims in an ID parade and CCTV evidence from the area confirmed Djli was the suspect.
