BANGOR, Maine (WGME) — A 23-year-old man from Lincoln, Maine, was arrested on Wednesday night in connection with the robbery of a Bangor convenience store, and police believe he may be tied to a series of similar incidents earlier this month.
Police apprehended Scott Dorn after they received a report of a robbery at the Circle K located at 489 Broadway. Dorn allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle, but officers were able to stop the car on Griffin Road and arrest him. Authorities say Dorn’s clothing matched that of the suspect described in previous robberies at convenience stores across Bangor, which began on January 13.
The suspect in the string of robberies is described as being between 5’8” and 6’2” tall and weighing between 250-300 pounds. He was reportedly seen wearing a rain jacket over a sweatshirt and a black mask. In at least two robberies, the suspect brandished a knife before taking cash from the store.
Dorn has been charged with robbery and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. He is currently being held at the Penobscot County Jail, and the investigation is ongoing. Additional charges could be filed as the case progresses.
