Samantha Goodrich Arrested for Receiving Ineligible Benefits

WASHINGTON COUNTY, N.Y. — Samantha Goodrich, a 32-year-old woman from Fort Ann, was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny after an investigation revealed she had been receiving social security benefits she was ineligible for.

The arrest followed a joint investigation conducted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington County Department of Social Services. Authorities found that between June 2021 and August 2023, Goodrich had improperly collected more than $3,000 in benefits.

Goodrich has been charged with grand larceny for allegedly obtaining these benefits fraudulently. The case highlights ongoing efforts to address benefit fraud in the county.
