The murder of Sahadev Nayak on the Rasulgarh flyover in Bhubaneswar has shaken the city. Five people have been arrested so far, including the main accused, while the mastermind behind this chilling crime remains at large. The police have been working tirelessly to track down Sushant Nayak, who is believed to have orchestrated the murder.
Reports indicate that the murder, which was linked to drug trafficking, had been planned for several months. The conspiracy to kill Sahadev was hatched the night before the crime in Dumuduma, where all the accused gathered at Sushant Nayak’s house to finalize their plan.
On the morning of the attack, Sahadev was returning home after dropping his daughter at school when the assailants ambushed him on the flyover. Armed with swords, they attacked him in broad daylight and swiftly fled the scene on a bike.
However, within 12 hours, three of the accused were apprehended by the Commissionerate Police’s squad and Mancheswar Police. The police have since recreated the crime scene near Lingipur, where the assailants disposed of the weapons used in the murder. The knives and other items were thrown into the Daya River, but law enforcement successfully recovered them during the scene recreation.
Despite the arrests, the hunt for the mastermind, Sushant Nayak, continues. The police have formed three special teams to track him down and bring him to justice.
