Ruby Epperson Arrested for Identity Theft, Drug Charges in Redding

Woman found with stolen IDs, drugs, and paraphernalia in Caldwell Park

REDDING, Calif. — Ruby Epperson was arrested at Caldwell Park after Redding Police discovered stolen identification, drugs, and paraphernalia in her vehicle.

At approximately 10:43 a.m., the Redding Bike Team spotted a gray Volkswagen parked in the Caldwell Park lot. Upon contacting the driver, Ruby Epperson, officers noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Epperson confessed to smoking marijuana in the park and also revealed that a methamphetamine bong was in her vehicle.

Following a search, the officers uncovered around 20 pieces of stolen identification, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Epperson, who was convicted of identity theft in 2007 and served four years in prison, was arrested. She faces charges of identity theft, possession of stolen property, and drug-related offenses. Epperson was booked into the Shasta County Jail.
