BIRMINGHAM – Reasha Geddes, 34, has been sentenced to eight years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to charges including causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a blade.
Geddes attacked his victim on Dudley Road in the early hours of August 24, slashing the man’s neck with a knife. The victim collapsed, and paramedics, who were passing by, treated him before transporting him to the hospital, where he was placed in an induced coma.
Following the attack, Geddes fled the scene but was tracked down by West Midlands Police. CCTV footage showed him returning home shortly after the assault. Further searches revealed discarded clothing Geddes had worn during the attack.
Geddes was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court on January 10, and police confirmed that the victim is still recovering from his injuries.
