In a significant breakthrough, the city police arrested Pradeep Bishnoi, who is believed to be one of the largest drug peddlers in western Rajasthan, on Saturday. Police also apprehended his aide and one jail guard, while another jail guard managed to flee during the operation.
Pradeep, a resident of Sanchore, was reportedly in Jodhpur to finalize a major drug deal involving MethyleneDioxy (MD) drugs worth crores. Authorities seized 328 grams of high-quality MD powder from his possession, which they suspect was meant to serve as a sample for potential buyers.
What makes this case even more alarming is that Pradeep had been residing in quarters within the Jodhpur Central Jail, with the help of two jail guards. These guards allegedly facilitated his illegal activities, providing him with shelter inside the prison premises.
The arrest of Pradeep Bishnoi is a major step in disrupting a significant drug network operating in the region, and investigations are ongoing to track down the fleeing jail guard and uncover further links to the trafficking ring.
