A 29-year-old Richford man, Perry Harrness, was arrested on January 4 for grand larceny and theft of services following multiple incidents that evening. Vermont State Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at 8 p.m. from 1 Webster St., which belonged to Daniel Turcotte, 60, also of Richford.

The vehicle was later located with Harrness inside. Further investigation revealed that Harrness had previously left Mokah’s Restaurant on 14 Province St. without paying for services and had stolen property worth $1,500, according to restaurant owner Heather Simmons, 43, of Swanton.

Additionally, police discovered that Harrness had an active in-state arrest warrant. He was transported to Northwest Medical Center for minor injuries sustained before his arrest.

Harrness was later lodged at Northwest Correctional Facility with bail set at $200. He is scheduled to appear in Franklin County Superior Court to face charges related to the theft and vehicle larceny.
