Mario Fertini, 33, from Sparks, has been sentenced to life in prison after his probation was revoked for illegal firearm possession and drug trafficking. Fertini, originally arrested in December 2019 after a pursuit that resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine and heroin, had been serving a 3-year probation term.
In less than a year, authorities discovered that Fertini had resumed his drug trafficking activities, leading to another arrest in which more than 4,000 grams of methamphetamine and a firearm were recovered. Fertini, who was already convicted of five counts including drug trafficking and firearm possession, will serve out his original 4-10 year sentence, plus a consecutive life sentence. He is eligible for parole after 22 years.
