Man Arrested in Connection to Armed Robbery at North Charleston Restaurant

Kevin Lamar Scott, 36, faces charges after robbing Ranias Restaurant

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Kevin Lamar Scott, 36, was arrested on Sunday afternoon after being involved in an armed robbery at Ranias Restaurant on Stall Road. According to the North Charleston Police Department, Scott is facing armed robbery charges following an incident that occurred just after 2 p.m. on February 25.

Employees at the restaurant reported that Scott entered the business, armed with a weapon, and stole cash from the register. After the robbery, he fled the scene, heading north on Stall Road toward Ashley Phosphate Road.

Quickly responding officers identified a suspect who matched the description of the robber. The suspect was located near Midland Park Road and Rivers Avenue but fled again on a bicycle, continuing his escape on foot. After a brief chase, Scott was eventually captured near Tipson Street.

Scott was taken into custody and held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center, with a bond set at $25,000.
