In a significant operation against drug trafficking, Karbi Anglong Police intercepted a vehicle and seized 548.93 grams of heroin, worth approximately Rs 4 crore. The heroin was hidden in compartments within the vehicle. Two individuals were arrested in connection with this major drug bust.
Simultaneously, police in Bongaigaon raided a location in Kakaijana and uncovered 62 containers filled with heroin. The operation was led by Karnav Patwari, the North Salmara sub-divisional police officer. During the raid, Moinuddin Ali and his wife, Moyful Khatun, were arrested while transporting the heroin-laden containers on a bike. The couple, along with their four-year-old child, was intercepted by police on their way to supply the drugs at the Sidalsati flyover.
These arrests underscore Assam police’s continued commitment to combating drug trafficking in the region.
