A Kaiser man was arrested and charged with drug trafficking after a traffic stop in Osage Beach led to the seizure of over 100 grams of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, an Osage Beach Police Officer was patrolling a business on Osage Beach Parkway on Wednesday night when he saw a man enter a car and drive off. The officer recognized the driver as Michael Hartwell and knew that Hartwell did not have a valid license.
Authorities also had prior intelligence from the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force indicating that Hartwell was transporting large quantities of methamphetamine.
K9 Alert and Drug Seizure
After initiating a traffic stop, K9 Officer Freya alerted officers to the presence of drugs in Hartwell’s sedan. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found:
Four bags containing 107 grams of methamphetamine
Various items of drug paraphernalia
