A woman has been sentenced to six months in prison after repeatedly breaching a court order and engaging in shoplifting activities in Wisbech. Jordan Palmer, 31, was apprehended on May 1 when police recognized her as being wanted in connection with several theft incidents in the area, as well as failing to appear in court.
Palmer was subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) that prohibited her from entering certain stores in Wisbech and March. She was scheduled to appear in court on April 26 for a theft charge linked to an incident at Tesco Extra on March 13, the same day she received a 26-week suspended prison sentence for seven counts of theft and four breaches of the CBO.
On May 2, Palmer faced six new charges:
- Theft of food and cleaning items from Farmfoods on March 30.
- Theft of alcohol worth £191 from Tesco Extra on April 5.
- Theft of a £30 power bank from Tesco Extra on the same day.
- Theft of food and cleaning items from B&M on April 16.
- Breach of the CBO by entering Boots on April 18.
- Theft of frozen salmon from Aldi on April 20.
Palmer, who has no fixed address, appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on May 3, where she admitted to all offenses. Her sentence includes activation of the previously suspended term.
Investigating officer PC Jude Easter stated, “Palmer is prolific in her offending and has been given many chances by the courts. However, she has shown complete disregard for that and is now spending the next few months behind bars.”
Since her CBO was issued in November, she has been convicted of 11 breaches. Authorities encourage anyone who witnesses further violations to report them.
