INDIAN HEAD, Md. — Detectives from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) have arrested 28-year-old John Alan Lynch of Indian Head, MD, following an indictment by a Charles County Grand Jury on charges of sexual abuse of a minor, sexual solicitation of a minor, and solicitation for prostitution.
Lynch, a building service worker at Henry E. Lackey High School, was taken into custody after an arrest warrant was issued. The charges stem from an incident on January 23, 2025, when Lynch allegedly solicited a student through a social media app, offering money in exchange for sexual favors. The victim reported the incident to school staff and the CCSO’s school resource officer, prompting an investigation by CID.
During their investigation, detectives confirmed that Lynch had made inappropriate requests via social media messages. He was employed at the school at the time the incidents occurred.
