Jamuguri Police have arrested two thieves, Jamal Hussain from Napam, Tezpur, and Imrakul Ali from Shilbari, Dalgaon, Darrang, for attempting to rob a house in Gotaimari. The duo was caught red-handed by local residents while they were attempting to steal valuables from the home of Mamraj Ali.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when Mamraj Ali’s house was empty. While the thieves were in the act of stealing, neighbors noticed their suspicious activities and immediately informed the Jamuguri Police. A police team quickly reached the scene and arrested the duo.
Local authorities have noted that anti-social activities like theft, chain snatching, cattle smuggling, and drug peddling have been on the rise in the Jamugurihat area. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
