Isaac Loremikan, 19, from Salford, has been sentenced to two years and nine months in a young offenders’ institution after being convicted of dealing Class A drugs in Warrington. Loremikan was involved in cuckooing, a practice where criminals take over the homes of vulnerable individuals to use them as bases for drug dealing.
The teenager, who lives on Croft Street, Salford, admitted to two counts of being involved in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as possessing cannabis and failing to comply with police orders. The court heard how in February 2024, police in Warrington were running Operation Excel—an initiative aimed at protecting vulnerable people from exploitative drug gangs.
As part of the operation, officers visited the address of a 61-year-old woman living on Troutbeck Avenue, Warrington. When they arrived on Tuesday 27th February, they found the woman and her 48-year-old friend, along with Loremikan. The woman, who did not know Loremikan, believed he was a friend of her acquaintance.
Loremikan initially lied about his identity and claimed he was simply waiting to return to Crewe. However, police identified him and discovered he was carrying two mobile phones, more than £300 in cash, and a box of cannabis. Officers later found messages on his phone indicating he was involved in Class A drug distribution.
Loremikan was arrested at the scene on charges of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and taken into custody. The case revealed how the young man had exploited the vulnerable homeowner for profit from his illegal activities.
Following his sentencing, Police Constable Matthew Salmon of Warrington Police expressed his relief at the outcome. He stated, “Loremikan is a callous criminal who targeted a vulnerable woman for his own benefit. The sentence reflects the serious impact of drug crime on both users and the community.”
The police emphasized their ongoing efforts to combat drug activity in Warrington and to make it harder for drug gangs to operate in the area. They continue to prioritize protecting vulnerable people from such exploitation.
