OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — A former detention officer, 31-year-old Casey Slone, was arrested on Wednesday for smuggling contraband into the Oklahoma County Detention Center (OCDC). Slone is facing charges related to introducing illegal items into the facility and using a contraband cellphone to communicate with an inmate.
Slone’s criminal activities reportedly extended to attempting to smuggle contraband into a state prison in Pittsburg County. She was hired as a detention officer on August 21, 2023, and was fired on July 30, 2024, following the discovery of her misconduct.
Brandi Garner, CEO of OCDC, expressed strong disapproval, stating, “The actions of this former detention officer are an outright betrayal of the trust placed in them by the public and their colleagues. Smuggling contraband into the facility endangers lives, compromises security, and undermines the integrity of our entire justice system. We have zero tolerance for such misconduct.”
Slone is facing several charges, including carrying a weapon, drugs, or alcohol into jail, as well as accessing a computer system or network with unlawful intent. After posting a $10,000 bond, Slone was released from custody.
