Five Sentenced for Covering Up Murder of Venezuelan Rapper Canserbero

Forensic expert, police officers, and impresario jailed for aiding in the cover-up

In a shocking development, five individuals, including three police officers, a forensic expert, and a music impresario, have been sentenced for their role in covering up the murder of Venezuelan rapper Canserbero (real name Tirone González) in 2015. The convicted individuals were given jail sentences ranging from 15 to 20 years for helping to stage Canserbero’s death to appear as a suicide.

Canserbero, who was once named the best Spanish-language rapper by Rolling Stone, was found dead on January 19, 2015, after allegedly falling from a 10th-floor window. The official story at the time suggested the rapper killed his friend, Carlos Molnar, in a knife fight before jumping out of the window. However, recent developments have revealed the truth behind the rapper’s tragic death.

In December 2023, Natalia Améstica, Canserbero’s manager, confessed to stabbing both Molnar and the rapper, admitting she had drugged them and later attacked them in her apartment. In her confession, Améstica explained that she was angry with Canserbero after he had decided to no longer work with her.

Améstica, alongside her brother Guillermo, who was also involved in the crime, staged the scene to look like a murder-suicide. The duo was helped by three officers from Venezuela’s intelligence agency, Sebin, and a forensic expert. They manipulated the scene to make it appear that Canserbero had murdered Molnar before taking his own life by jumping out of the window.

The forensic expert initially became suspicious of the scene, prompting a request for a bribe to help cover up the crime. The music impresario, Marcos Pratolongo, was also implicated in the case. He was found in possession of keys to Canserbero’s apartment, from which important evidence had gone missing. Pratolongo’s exact role in the murder remains unclear.

The five individuals sentenced have now been held accountable for their involvement in the disturbing cover-up of Canserbero’s murder.
