Security forces in the Islamic Republic have arrested 30-year-old civil and environmental activist, Fardin Mahmoudi, in Piranshahr. His detention marks the third recent arrest in the city. Mahmoudi was taken into custody at his workplace on Monday during what witnesses described as an aggressive raid.
After his arrest, security forces conducted a search of his home and seized his books, as reported by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization.
This follows the arrests of two other Piranshahr residents, Murad Ostovar and Ne’mat Ahmadnejad, by security forces in recent days.
Authorities have not revealed the reasons for the arrests, nor the charges against the individuals. The current whereabouts and condition of those detained remain unknown.
