WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KFDX/KJTL) — A Dallas man with prior robbery convictions is behind bars after allegedly attempting or committing thefts at several Wichita Falls businesses on Monday, June 9.

Wichita Falls Police responded to a report of a theft-in-progress at Metro by T-Mobile on Midwestern Parkway around 3:56 p.m. The store manager told officers that a bearded Black man in a black shirt had been lingering near the iPhones and tried to steal a display phone before fleeing west on foot.

Shortly after, police received another call from a Verizon store nearby reporting that a man matching the same description had successfully stolen a Samsung Galaxy A16 display phone, valued at $199.99.

While canvassing the area, officers were flagged down by employees at Jimmy John’s, who claimed the same man attempted to steal cash from a customer placing a catering order. No money was taken in that incident.

Officers eventually spotted the suspect walking near Call Field Road and attempted to engage him. According to police, the man ignored commands until officers threatened to deploy a Taser. He then complied and was taken into custody without further incident.

The man was identified as Glenn Earl Thrash II, 35, of Dallas. He was carrying a black and white Nike backpack and a Father’s Day gift bag filled with new merchandise. Police discovered a TJ Maxx price tag and security tag still attached to the items and confirmed with store staff that they had witnessed Thrash shoplifting the goods, valued at $193.89.

Thrash reportedly resisted being placed into the patrol vehicle, requiring officers to forcibly pull him inside.

Charges and Criminal History:
Thrash faces the following charges:

Theft of property over $2,500 with two or more prior convictions (felony)

Resisting arrest

Evading detention

A background check revealed two prior robbery convictions from 2024 in Dallas County.

As of the latest update, Thrash remains in custody at the Wichita County Jail with bond set at $54,000.
