The Coimbatore District (Rural) Police on Wednesday arrested two men for their involvement in a high-profile robbery that took place on November 8 at Velanthavalam, located near the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border. The crime saw a Palakkad native lose Rs54 lakh.

The arrested individuals, Sumit Nagesh Salunke (25) and Saneesh Govindan Salunke (35), are relatives who originally hail from Maharashtra and have settled in Palakkad. The two were apprehended by a special police team following an intense investigation.

Authorities believe the two suspects, along with three accomplices, carried out the robbery, targeting the victim and making off with a significant amount of money. Investigations are ongoing as the police work to track down the remaining suspects involved in the crime.
