Christopher Carroll Sentenced to 9 Years for Fraud and Violations

Former Trucking Company Owner Faces Prison for Fraud and Environmental Violations

by Sophia Bennett

Farmington, Missouri — Christopher Carroll, 55, the former owner of Whiskey Dix Big Truck Repair LLC, has been sentenced to 108 months (9 years) in prison for multiple crimes, including bank fraud, Clean Air Act violations, and witness tampering. He was also ordered to pay $3 million in restitution.

In August 2024, Carroll was convicted of three counts of bank fraud, three counts of making false statements to a financial institution, one count of conspiracy to violate the Clean Air Act, 13 violations of the Clean Air Act, and two counts of threatening a witness.

The charges stemmed from fraudulent applications for two Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans totaling more than $2.8 million. Carroll and his partner, George Reed, concealed Carroll’s status as a paroled felon, a disqualifier for PPP funds, by using false names on loan applications. They withdrew $660,000 from the company after the loans were approved.

Reed, who pleaded guilty to bank fraud in 2022, was sentenced to time served and also ordered to pay $3 million in restitution.

Carroll’s criminal history includes violent offenses, including being a convicted sex offender. His former trucking company, Whiskey Dix Big Truck Repair, was also convicted of 16 Clean Air Act violations and sentenced to three years of probation.
