Aligarh police arrested Bunty, a 30-year-old man, for allegedly murdering his cousin, Devraj Singh (32), in Rahasopur village under Harduaganj area. Devraj had visited Bunty’s home the previous evening but never returned, prompting his family to search for him. They found his body lying on a cot, drenched in blood, and immediately informed authorities.
Amrit Jain, SP (Rural), stated that the local police and field units collected crucial evidence and sent the body for postmortem. A case has been registered at Harduaganj police station under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Bunty has been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear. Devraj’s brother, Ajay Singh, said the cousins were close and had no known conflicts, leaving the family shocked by the violent act.
SHO Vipin Kumar confirmed that further action will follow after detailed investigation.
