In a breakthrough investigation, police have arrested a 46-year-old accountant and two other suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a security guard, Balu Bharat Dongre, at Icon Hospital in Latur, Maharashtra. The incident occurred on December 11, and the arrested suspects include Dr. Pramod Ghuge, the hospital owner, and his nephew Aniket Munde.
Dongre, aged 35, was severely beaten by the suspects, leading to his death. A murder case was subsequently registered at Shivajinagar police station. Dr. Ghuge was arrested on December 23 at an ashram in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, while Munde was apprehended on the night of December 25–26.
On Saturday, the police arrested Jayram Devidas Kamble, an accountant at a medical shop in the hospital, in connection with the crime. According to the police, the motive behind the murder stemmed from an altercation after Ghuge allegedly forced Dongre to participate in the abduction of a lift contractor. Ghuge then refused to pay Dongre for his involvement, resulting in a violent confrontation.
Dr. Ghuge and Munde have been remanded in police custody until December 30 as the investigation continues.
