The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has arrested Johan Portilla-Guzman, the owner of Pro-Remodeling, on charges of organized fraud. Detectives with the JSO Economic Crimes Unit are now searching for more potential victims who may have fallen prey to his scam.
Portilla-Guzman allegedly posed as a licensed contractor to deceive homeowners, convincing them to pay tens of thousands of dollars for services he never provided. The JSO believes there may be additional victims who were scammed in a similar manner.
Authorities are urging anyone who believes they may have been defrauded by Portilla-Guzman or Pro-Remodeling to come forward and contact the Economic Crimes Unit.
