RM6.1 Million Loss for Manager in K-33 Investment Scam

by Amelia Crawford

A 64-year-old manager from Selangor has suffered a shocking loss of RM6.1 million after falling victim to a fraudulent investment scheme known as the K-33 Investor Club. The victim encountered the scam through a Facebook advertisement and was later contacted by an individual claiming to be Raymond Goh, a trainer for the investment group.

The scammer convinced the victim to register as a new investor on the platform “Digzax.com” and participate in various investment activities. Over the course of two weeks, the victim made nine transactions, totaling RM6.1 million, into five separate bank accounts.

Upon completing the transactions, the victim saw his supposed profits listed as RM28.9 million on the platform. However, when he attempted to withdraw the funds, he was told to pay additional taxes in order to access the profits. This prompted him to realize that he had been deceived.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan warned the public about the risks of investment schemes advertised on social media, especially those involving unapproved apps. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating and fraud.
