Bowling Green police responded Saturday night to a theft report at a store on the 1000 block of North Main Street. Store staff recognized Devin Brownlee, 32, as the man who had been involved in a prior theft incident.
At approximately 8:53 p.m., Brownlee entered the store again, unaware that officers were already on their way. Upon arrival, police found him inside the store and informed him that he was under arrest due to two active theft warrants. Brownlee initially denied having any active warrants, demanding to see them.
As officers attempted to arrest him, Brownlee resisted, trying to pull away multiple times. During a search, police discovered several packets of unboxed red tablets in his pants pocket. Surveillance footage from the store showed Brownlee taking two boxes of cold medicine.
After further attempts to evade arrest, Brownlee was taken into custody and charged with two counts of theft/shoplifting. He was transported to jail for processing.
