CHICAGO — A 27-year-old Chicago man, Willie Greenwood, has been arrested and charged with armed robbery after allegedly robbing a 65-year-old man at gunpoint earlier this week in Chinatown.
According to the Chicago Police Department, Greenwood was arrested around 11:43 p.m. on Wednesday in the 200 block of West 23rd Street, just an hour after the robbery took place in the 200 block of West 24th Street.
Police say Greenwood is the suspect behind the armed robbery in which he reportedly held the victim, a 65-year-old man, at gunpoint. Authorities confirmed that Greenwood used a replica firearm during the robbery.
While it’s unclear if the victim was injured during the incident, Greenwood has been charged with one felony count of armed robbery and is due to appear for a detention hearing on Friday.
