Supaul police have uncovered a shocking murder conspiracy targeting Shashiranjan Chaudhary, orchestrated by his wife Soni in collusion with her childhood friend and lover, Brajesh. The duo allegedly offered a contract killing for Rs1.5 lakh, but the attempt failed, and Chaudhary survived the attack.
The incident occurred on November 26 in the Triveniganj market area, when Chaudhary was shot while returning home from a meal. He sustained gunshot injuries but was rushed to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Police investigations revealed that Soni and Brajesh, both residents of Madhepura district, planned the attack together. Four people, including the suspected masterminds, were arrested, and authorities recovered Rs62,000 in cash along with the weapons allegedly used in the crime.
Superintendent of Police Sarath R. S. confirmed, “The duo finalized the contract killing for Rs1.5 lakh during a meeting in Madhepura. Their illicit relationship motivated this murder plot.”
The police, led by Triveniganj DSP, pieced together evidence from the crime scene and witness testimonies to expose the conspiracy. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the investigation of this high-profile case of attempted contract killing.
